AUDIO LEAD, COMPOSER, SOUND DESIGNER.
HORRIFI

BETA SIGNUP (PLEASE READ!)
WHO I'M LOOKING FOR:
I’m looking for a small group of people to help test HorriFi before release.
WHAT IT IS & WHAT IT DOES:
HorriFi is a horror / audio-destruction plugin I’ve been building over the last few weeks.
It interpolates between incoming audio and selectable source material, runs the result through convolution, then mangles it through a chain of distortion, reverb and other bits and bobs.
IT ALREADY SOUNDS SUITABLY AWFUL. I NOW NEED TO KNOW WHERE IT BREAKS.
This beta is mainly to assess compatibility, stability and obvious usability problems.
I’m particularly interested in things like:
-
Does it install and open properly?
-
Does it behave correctly in your DAW?
-
Any crashes, glitches or ridiculous CPU usage?
-
Any controls that behave unexpectedly?
-
Any major level jumps or other audio weirdness?
-
Anything confusing enough that you had to stop and decipher what the fuck I meant?
You do not need to write an essay. A few useful notes after spending some time with it is plenty.
I’m aiming for roughly 20 testers across different systems and DAWs. If you’re happy to abuse it for a bit and report back, stick your details below and I’ll send you the beta build.
A FEW BORING BITS:
At the moment, HorriFi is VST3 only.
I’m testing it myself in REAPER, Ableton Live and FL Studio, but all on the same machine. That is currently the extent of the compatibility testing. If you’re using another DAW, or simply running a different setup, that is especially useful to me, though do note that compatibility is absolutely not guaranteed at this stage.
... WHICH IS THE POINT OF THE BETA.
Things may break. Presets may behave strangely. Something that worked yesterday may decide it has developed principles overnight.
FOR MY COMRADES WHO DO THIS FOR A LIVING:
If you are on a deadline and intend to use HorriFi, by all means do it. But please do it in a copy of the project. I would rather not discover a catastrophic compatibility issue by ruining somebody’s paid work.
And remember: I’m not much of a programmer.
Just a bloke who seemingly HAS TO make every stupid idea come to life, for better or worse.
By doing this, you’re helping me bring something new and hopefully useful to market. Needless to say, you’ll get a free copy when it’s finished.
Leave your email below and I’ll be in touch when the beta build is ready.
Thanks for helping me find the stupid stuff before paying customers do.
Ta-ta,
Eddy
