DESIGN IN FOCUS is a multimedia channel designed for Creatives, Innovators and Designers. Candice and I discuss music within the video games industry, the differences between music in video games versus the music industry, as well as the video game industry at large.
SHOUTOUT LA is an online publication discussing creativity and entrepreneurship. In this written interview, I discuss what got me to where I am today, some of the practical aspects of how I do what I do, and, most importantly - mention some of the people who helped me out along the way.
"Rather than simply taking visual prompts from the client and making a stab at my own interpretation of what I think would work best in terms of a sonic palette or genre, I try to encourage my collaborators to steer away from the cliché or typical. The only acceptable outcome is that we develop a sound for the project that sets it apart in order to ensure a memorable experience."

INDIECATOR.ORG is a blog centered around independent video games, bringing more attention to Indie Gems that you may not have heard about yet. Games reviews, news, tips and tricks. In this interview, Dan and I discuss my beginnings in games, music and my first steps into the video games industry, making music. We also get into my approach to writing music and how I work with clients.
"I didn’t go to school for music or anything like that, though. I know a lot of people study at University for this sort of thing which is great but yeah, my path into it was totally different."
"I try to identify the commissioning parties’ vision, rather than my own. I think that the most challenging and rewarding part of what we do as composers for hire is just that – helping others discover their musical vision for their projects. Most of the heavy lifting in terms of finding the right sound is through discussion, far before pitching and refining. I try to emphasise the importance of this – spending days in a discussion can save months’ worth of revising ideas. As far as I’m concerned, this preliminary work isn’t optional."
